When traditional weekly talk therapy just isn’t enough
Adjunct Brainspotting in North Carolina and South Carolina
Are you doing weekly talk therapy but feel like you are still stuck?
You’ve been working on things for a while now. Your therapist is great, and you definitely see benefits from your time together, but maybe there’s still areas that don’t seem to be changing. Or maybe you have a ton going on in your life right now that needs to be addressed, but that doesn’t leave time in session to heal from all the past trauma and hurt. Or you’ve gotten to the point where you know what to do, but your feelings haven’t connected with your thoughts.
But with all of this, you don’t want to give up working with your therapist.
This is where adjunct Brainspotting can help.
You can continue to heal.
How adjunct brainspotting works
You can address the past and the present
Adjunct therapy is when two therapists work together to get you the progress you’re looking for. You’ll continue to work with your primary therapist while attending sessions with another for a brief period of time to address a specific concern. Sometimes you will continue to work with both during the same time frame, while others may prefer to briefly pause their regular sessions while engaging in adjunct Brainspotting. You may also prefer to add a Brainspotting Intensive while you continue to work with your usual therapist.
Adjunct therapy is time-limited and laser-focused, giving you the time and focus to really dig deep into those areas that may be holding you back in your traditional sessions. You can process trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, and more during your adjunct sessions while continuing to work on all of life’s daily stressors with your primary therapist. And with Brainspotting, you don’t have to have the words to discuss what’s underneath; we work with your brain to help it heal.
Of course, you also get the added bonus of having a team working with you using different strengths and strategies.
Adjunct Brainspotting can help you…
Overcome therapy blocks
Heal from traumas without giving up your weekly therapy space
Focus on one particular concern
Gain the benefit of two different sets of expertise
Get deep brain healing while still getting the talk you need

FAQs
-
Brainspotting is a technique developed out of Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address trauma, anxiety, and more. Your eye position is linked to a specific spot in your brain (brainspot) that holds different memories. Through finding and focusing different brainspots, we work with your brain to release difficult emotions.

Currently, I have the following options:
8 weeks adjunct brainspotting:
This option is great for those who want to take a pause from traditional weekly therapy and really “dig in” to the underlying concerns through use of Brainspotting. We would meet weekly for 55 minute Brainspotting sessions to address your specific goal.
Brainspotting intensives:
This option is great for those who want to really do a deep dive in a focused amount of time, without interruptions to their usual therapy schedule. More information about Therapy Intensives here.
Monthly Adjunct Brainspotting:
The best of both worlds! We have monthly 3-hour brainspotting sessions, where you can dig deep and kickstart healing, while still attending regular therapy sessions.

Open communication is key! I encourage clients who are working with another therapist to sign a release of information giving us permission to speak. Of course, this is always up to you. If you prefer a written summary, I am happy to provide that to you to pass along to them.

I would love to work alongside you in helping your clients heal! I encourage other therapists to speak to their clients first to make sure they are on board with adjunct therapy.
